Recommend it for couples looking for romance
The host Nick treated us like royalty, even surprising us with a little upgrade. The breakfast was fantastic, I couldn't believe the homemade brie and stuffed grape leaves were included, it was like living in a dream.
It wasn't exactly inexpensive but still acceptable for the quality we received.

The unique architectural design of the hotel provided a beautiful backdrop for our stay.
Unfortunately, our experience was marred by several issues. The noise from the nearby highway disrupted our sleep, disappointing. Our initial greeting was less than warm, leaving us feeling unwelcomed. To top it off, we discovered rat droppings in our room, unacceptable and alarming.

Really enjoyed Houston, the hotel was wonderful close to the museums. The location was particularly good and excellent as for me, short walk to the museum district & Hermann Park, Montrose and the museum district and midtown nightlife. Also, it was 5 minutes drive to Museum of Fine Arts.

Charming atmosphere with unique decor
The hotel's enchanting ambiance and artistic decor, reminiscent of a fairy tale retreat. From the intricate custom-designed fixtures to the enchanting common areas filled with art, it reminded me of stepping into a beautiful narrative. One unexpected highlight was the good heated pool. I did wish for more variety in the breakfast offerings, as it felt a bit limited.

The location is a fantastic starting point for exploring local attractions, paired with an ambiance that feels more like a charming home than a typical hotel. The good character of the Urban Retreat was accentuated by its unique decor and art pieces. Only downside was the limited breakfast options, which could use more variety. Some common areas felt a bit dated and could benefit from a refresh for a more polished look. Despite these issues, the overall vibe makes it worth visiting.
